Simpsons Predict the Future Again Curling
The Simpsons Predicted U.S. Curling Gilded Medal Victory in 2010
The Simpsons has made another uncanny prediction, as the 2010 episode 'Boy Meets Curl' predicted that Team USA would shell Sweden in Olympic crimper.
The Simpsons predicted the U.S. men's curling team beating Sweden for Olympic gold - dorsum in 2010. The Americans pulled off an upset over the favored Swedes on Sat in Pyeongchang, Southward Korea, giving the U.Southward. its kickoff-ever gold medal in the event. But Olympic curling is old news to The Simpsons, which featured the niche sport in the cardinal plot of flavour 21 episode "Boy Meets Roll", which featured Marge and Homer forming a mixed curling team forth with Seymour Skinner and his mother Agnes.
Rob LaZebnik wrote the episode, the 453rd in the show's prolific run and the writer'due south fourth credit out of 13 to engagement. Clearly, he noticed something interesting happening in the existent-life crimper match unfolding in South Korea. That is, the same one-2 event as the episode he wrote eight years ago. He was quick to remind people, once over again, of The Simpsons' uncanny ability to predict future events.

LaZebnik tweeted before long later the results of Saturday's crimper friction match to congratulate Team The states on beating Sweden. Just he noted that they really were not the first American squad to win the gold. Marge and Homer did it eight years ago, when "Male child Meets Whorl" aired during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Marge was the star of the team, nearly having to forfeit the match due to a right shoulder injury - but she reveals that she'southward really left-handed and returns simply in time to beat Sweden in the gold medal match every bit a lefty.
The Simpsons has long showed incredible foresight in predicting future world events - most notably Donald Trump winning the U.Due south. presidency, which they predicted in a 2000 episode. The prove also subtly predicted the Disney-Play a trick on deal back in 1998, and the 2013 European horse meat scandal back in 1994. They've also predicted hereafter technology similar the iPod, Siri, and smart watches in various episodes over the years.
Chalk up another stunning prediction for The Simpsons. Calling a victory for Team USA wasn't really the impressive role, but calling that they beat Sweden in particular. They could've very easily gone with Canada or Russian federation or some other country taking the silver. LaZebnik deserves credit for hitting his own form of golden to nail this latest Simpsons prophecy.
Then over again, it yet wasn't exactly an airtight prediction. The episode had Russia winning the bronze medal, while Switzerland took the real-life gold in Pyeongchang. And at the end of the solar day, The Simpsons is up to 629 episodes and counting. They're bound to brand some predictions if yous look difficult enough. But while this isn't quite the near astonishing Simpsons prediction, information technology certainly counts - and it proves once again that they should be on anybody's radar in this respect.
The Simpsons' 29th flavor returns on Sunday, March eleven with "3 Scenes Plus a Tag from a Marriage" on Fox.
